Increase in Traffic and Toll Revenue on HAC and ARZ Highways

On all HAC and ARZ highways, traffic of more than ten million vehicles was recorded in the first quarter, representing an increase of 3.5 percent compared to the same period last year, while the amount of toll collected increased by 9.6 percent to 455.6 million kuna (excluding VAT), announced Croatian Highways (HAC) on Friday.

According to HAC data, traffic of 10,014,976 vehicles and toll revenue of 455,636,108 kuna (excluding VAT) was recorded on all their highways and those managed by the Rijeka-Zagreb Highway (ARZ) in the first three months.

“Compared to last year, the number of vehicles increased by 3.56 percent, and the amount of toll collected is higher by 9.62 percent,” the statement said.

The trend of increasing traffic and revenue from toll collection in the first quarter is evident on all highways, and HAC particularly highlights the increase in traffic across all vehicle categories, despite very unfavorable weather conditions in February.

The highest traffic in the first three months of this year was recorded on the A3 Bregana-Zagreb-Lipovac highway, with more than 3.6 million vehicles, which is an increase of 5.5 percent compared to the same period last year. The highest revenue from toll collection in the first quarter was also achieved on this highway, amounting to approximately 190.8 million kuna (excluding VAT), which is an annual increase of 13.58 percent, according to HAC data.

“Given the upcoming tourist season, further growth is expected,” the statement concludes.
