Today in Croatia: Conference Women in Entrepreneurship

We announce the most important events in Croatia for Thursday, April 12:

ZAGREB – The 8th session of the Croatian Parliament will continue (9:30 AM, Croatian Parliament, St. Mark’s Square 6).

ZAGREB – Meeting of the Government of the Republic of Croatia (1:30 PM, Banski dvori, St. Mark’s Square 2).

ZAGREB – The Jewish Community of Zagreb is organizing a central commemorative ceremony at Mirogoj Cemetery, near the sculpture “Moses” (5 PM) on the occasion of Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah). On this occasion, a speech will be delivered by the president of the Coordination of Jewish Communities in the Republic of Croatia and the Jewish Community of Zagreb, Ognjen Kraus. The prayer will be led by the Chief Rabbi of the Republic of Croatia and Montenegro, Lucian Moša Prelević.

SPLIT – At 6 PM, a protest of the civic initiative ‘Croatia Against the Istanbul Convention’ will take place on the Split Riva. A stage will be set up on the Riva for accredited journalists to access for photography and filming purposes.

ZAGREB – An interdepartmental demonstration exercise “TIM 1836 – 2018” will be held at the premises of Pliva Hrvatska d.o.o. at Prilaz baruna Filipovića from 11 AM to 1 PM. The exercise is organized by the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia (MUP RH) – Police Directorate, and its aim is to demonstrate the joint capability of the Croatian Police forces, the Croatian Army, the Public Fire Brigade of the City of Zagreb, and the Fire Brigade of Pliva Hrvatska d.o.o. in the event of a security incident that may result in or has the release of Toxic Industrial Materials (TIM).

ZAGREB – A signing ceremony of the Agreement between the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) and the Institute for Development and Innovation of Youth (IRIM) will take place at the SOL Refugee Integration Center. The agreement will be signed by Tvrtko Barun (JRS) and Nenad Bakić (IRIM). In addition to the signing, a “micro: bit workshop” will be held to develop STEM competencies aimed at facilitating integration into society (12 PM, Maksimirska 286).

ZAGREB – On the occasion of the ‘March for Science’, a press conference will be held at the Nikola Tesla monument, at the corner of Masarykova and Preradovićeva streets, where the Sociology Students Association Anomija will present details of this year’s ‘March for Science’, which aims to show that there are still people striving for Croatia to be a country that relies on science, expertise, and ethics. During this event, all reasons for marching will be shared, as well as the route that will be walked in downtown Zagreb on Saturday, April 14 (12 PM, Nikola Tesla monument, corner of Masarykova and Preradovićeva streets).

ZAGREB – Hrvatska poštanska banka (HPB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) are organizing the conference “Women in Entrepreneurship”. The conference will be opened by the CEO of HPB, Tomislav Vuić, and the EBRD director for Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, and Slovakia, Vedrana Jelušić Kašić (9:00 AM, Kaptol Boutique Cinema, Nova ves 17).
