Bandić: ZET tickets are increasing in price, parking fees remain unchanged

Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandić announced on Wednesday an increase in the price of ZET tickets from four to six or even eight kuna, as analyses have shown that the current price is too low despite increased sales.

– Analyses have shown that four kuna is too low a price for a ticket regardless of increased sales. After the analyses we conducted, we saw that six kuna would be better. We will probably go with six kuna, but that is still 40 percent less than ten kuna, said the Zagreb mayor in the Radio Sljeme show ‘Zagrebi po Zagrebu’.

It may happen, he says, that the increase will be eight kuna. “Whether it will be four or six is a matter of negotiation between our Office for Economy, ZET, and the unions. I also think that four kuna is too little. It will not be ten kuna. It would be better if it were four kuna. Worse than making a mistake is insisting on a mistake,” he added.

Bandić did not rule out the possibility that the ticket price could change again after six months.

– If we decide on six kuna, we will conduct an analysis after six months and then we will change it. We will change it until we reach the optimum, said the Zagreb mayor, who does not know when the decision on the price increase will be made, but it will be very soon.

Parking tickets will not increase

Bandić denied media reports about an increase in parking ticket prices.

– Zagrebians can sleep peacefully regarding the increase in parking prices. There will be no increase in parking fees. I have never talked about that, but about fair relief from parking payments, that everyone in Zagreb should pay for parking, he said.

He explained that this refers to the expansion of parking zones and a reduction in the price of parking per hour. “Only an increase in parking standards can be discussed in certain parts of the city, where new zones would be built, but at existing prices,” he added.

From the Holding, he says, no request for an increase in parking prices has come. “In the end, the mayor decides on the increase. That will not pass, even if it comes to me,” he stated.

He announced that on Friday at the conference of the Club of Parliamentary Representatives Bandić Milan 365 – the Labor and Solidarity Party, he will reveal whether they support the ratification of the Istanbul Convention and his stance on supporting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Marina Dalić.

Bandić stated that “currently there is no better solution than Prime Minister Andrej Plenković,” which is why he has the support of his party.
