Today in Croatia: Government Session and Assembly of the Croatian Bishops’ Conference

We announce the most important events in Croatia for Tuesday, April 10:

ZAGREB – Session of the Government of the Republic of Croatia (3 PM, St. Mark’s Square 2).

ZAGREB – The Committee for Health and Social Policy will hold a thematic session on the topic “How endangered is the health of residents in Slavonski Brod?” related to the ecological incident of water supply contamination, which has left about 90,000 residents without drinking water, and the topic will also be the air quality in Slavonski Brod. Representatives from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Energy, the Croatian Institute of Public Health, the Public Health Institute of Brod-Posavina County, and others have been invited to the session (11 AM, St. Mark’s Square 6, Ivan Mažuranić Hall).

SLANO – The Office for Mine Clearance of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, the Croatian Mine Action Centre, and the Croatian Mine Action Centre – Testing, Development and Training Centre are opening the 15th International Symposium “Mine Action 2018,” which is designed as a practical and open platform for the exchange of theoretical knowledge and scientific experiences in the field of mine action. During the opening ceremony, special recognitions will be awarded to individuals, organizations, and countries that have significantly contributed to the development of the entire concept of the Symposium, its growing importance, and international recognition over the past 15 years. Media statements are scheduled after the conclusion of the official opening of the Symposium (9:30 AM, Congress Hall of the Admiral Grand Hotel in Slano, Ruđera Boškovića 13).

ZAGREB – The regular plenary session of the Assembly of the Croatian Bishops’ Conference begins, the 56th in a row, chaired by the president of the HBK, Archbishop Želimir Puljić of Zadar (10 AM, Ksaverska cesta 12 a). The beginning of the session is open to the media.

PLITVICE – The Assembly of the Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Croatia will hold a meeting expected to be attended by more than a hundred mayors from across Croatia (11 AM, in the congress hall of the Jezero Hotel at Plitvice Lakes).

ZAGREB – The Programming Council of Croatian Radio and Television will hold a meeting for which topics have been announced regarding Croatian music in the programs of Croatian Television and Croatian Radio, a report on the implementation of Article 11 of the Law on Croatian Radio and Television for 2017, monitoring the fulfillment of obligations of Croatian Radio and Television established by the Agreement between Croatian Radio and Television and the Government of the Republic of Croatia, as well as a discussion on the Proposal for amendments to the Rules of Procedure of the Programming Council of Croatian Radio and Television (11 AM, Croatian Radio and Television, Prisavlje 3, Building B – 30, 1st floor, Hall 107 a).

ZAGREB – Signing of contracts for the allocation of non-repayable funds under the program “Tourism for Jobs,” aimed at improving access for vulnerable groups to the labor market in the tourism and hospitality sector, for which the Ministry of Tourism has secured 31 million kuna. Minister of Tourism Gari Cappelli, Director of the Croatian Employment Service Ante Lončar, and users of the submitted projects will address the attendees (12:00 PM, Ministry of Tourism, Prisavlje 14).

ZAGREB – The grand opening of the 15th car salon and accompanying industry Zagreb Auto-show (April 10 – 15). More than 460 exhibitors from 34 countries and 85 vehicle brands are expected (6 PM, Zagreb Fair (Congress Hall), Av. Dubrovnik 15).
