Vrdoljak: No single person can implement a serious reform

HNS leader Ivan Vrdoljak stated on Monday that the Government, the Prime Minister, the Minister, and coalition partners firmly support the education reform, and when asked if he finds Radovan Fuchs acceptable as the head of the Expert Working Group (ERS), whose name has been mentioned in the media, he replied that he finds acceptable “what is acceptable to our children”.

– Regardless of any doubts that may have arisen in public, it is clear to everyone that the Government, the Prime Minister, the Minister, and coalition partners firmly stand behind the education reform. What is acceptable to me is what is acceptable to our children, not the conflict and the name of an individual, but the content we need to deliver to our children, and we should quickly agree on that and work. Do not single out individuals; no single person can implement a serious reform, Vrdoljak said ahead of the meeting of coalition partners in the Government.

Regarding when the ‘mini-crisis’ surrounding the election of the head of the ERS, which has shaken the ruling coalition, will end, Vrdoljak replied that he thinks tomorrow is the last day.

He also commented on expectations from the settlement in Agrokor.

– We will only see the proposal now, so I cannot say what is in the proposal before we communicate it with colleagues from Agrokor, Vrdoljak said.

The goal, he reiterated, is to ensure political stability so that the process can be successfully concluded.

When asked if he supports Deputy Prime Minister Martina Dalić, whose dismissal is sought by the opposition, he briefly said: “Yes.”
