ZSE: Calm trading expected, Crobex indices poised for slight weekly gains

Calm trading is expected on the Zagreb Stock Exchange on Friday, as in previous days, as there are no news to stimulate investors, while the Crobex indices are poised for slight weekly gains.

After two days of slight increases, these indices are in slight positive territory compared to the beginning of the week, and they could record their first gains after three weeks of losses. In a block transaction of HT shares, a turnover of 6.16 million kuna was achieved, while Atlantic Group had a turnover of 2.1 million kuna.

– After several days of somewhat more volatile trading, Crobex ended yesterday in slight positive territory with a trading volume lower than the monthly average, says Aleksandra Mladenović, a broker at Podravska banka.

In regular trading, the only share with a million kuna turnover was the privileged share of Adris Group, which rose by 0.47 percent to 426 kuna. The regular issue of Adris, on the other hand, fell by 1.96 percent to 500 kuna. In contrast, the bigger loser was the share of Jadran from Crikvenica, which saw its price reduced by 4.03 percent. Global stock markets are experiencing instability due to a potential trade war between the US and China.

Yesterday, stock prices on Wall Street rose for the third consecutive day, but as US President Donald Trump indicated that new tariffs on Chinese imports are being considered, the futures S&P 500 index is in the red this morning.

>>>Investors concerned about tensions between the US and China, European markets down

– After Trump stated yesterday that the US is considering an additional $100 billion in tariffs on China, the futures S&P 500 fell, indicating a lower start today. Investors have turned to somewhat safer investments, leading to lower interest rates and higher Treasury prices. Today, data on several macroeconomic indicators regarding employment is expected, as well as a speech by Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, which, along with the uncertainty in negotiations between the US and China, will have a significant impact on market movements today, concludes Aleksandra Mladenović.
