Union Representatives and Jadrolinija Management Sign Agreement on Salary Increase

On Wednesday, at the port of Rijeka on the catamaran “Dubravka”, the “Agreement on Salary Increase in Jadrolinija” was signed between representatives of the union partners and the Company Management. The signing was attended by the President of the Management Board of Jadrolinija, David Sopta, the General Secretary of the Croatian Seafarers’ Union, Neven Melvan, and the President of the Independent Union of Croatian Seafarers, Petar Grubišić.

The agreement defines the principles of negotiation and accession to the National Collective Agreement for Croatian seafarers in national coastal line shipping, and the Management of Jadrolinija commits to increasing the point value for all employees by 5%.

Additionally, a new method of salary calculation for Jadrolinija seafarers has been defined, which will be tested over the next three months. The agreement stipulates that the negotiations for the New National Collective Agreement will not financially burden Jadrolinija in relation to the amount of seafarers’ salaries, and representatives of the unions and the Company Management announce the signing of the new National Collective Agreement this year.

– I would like to thank and congratulate my colleagues from the unions for the well-conducted negotiations and for the correct cooperation. The Agreement is a result of their initiative and understanding that the existing salary calculation is outdated and must be changed for the benefit of our seafarers. This is also proof of the claim that Jadrolinija’s employees, namely seafarers, come first. Our seafarers are our greatest asset, and their knowledge and experience are one of the fundamental resources of the Company, said David Sopta, President of the Management Board of Jadrolinija, on this occasion.
