Chinese customs officials have managed to put an end to an ingenious gang that smuggled thousands of smartphones using drones.
Thieves who smuggled goods worth nearly $80 million from Hong Kong were caught at their destination in Shenzhen, authorities announced on Friday.
A total of 26 smugglers who transported modified iPhones via drones have been arrested.

“This is the first case of drone smuggling in China,” states Chinese customs.
The smugglers conducted the majority of their operations after midnight, averaging 15,000 phones smuggled across the border each night in bags containing about ten phones each.
