Students of the Faculty of Economics Win Medals at International Competition in Moscow

Students of the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb had the opportunity to represent their Faculty at the international student competition – the International Universiade in Management, International Business and Entrepreneurship, where they achieved exceptional success.

At the Universiade, organized by Lomonosov Moscow State University, around a hundred students from all over the world participated, and EFZG was represented by Lorena Bartolčić, Michael Tomislav Breyer, Vedran Brozović, Matej Findri, Filip Hrastić, Danijel Jajetić, and Marinela Žugaj under the guidance of Assistant Professor Dr. Rebeka Danijela Vlahov.

The competition took place in two stages – individual testing of knowledge in management, international business, entrepreneurship, and English language, followed by a 12-hour team project on a case study of L’Oréal.

In the individual category, Croatian students won top places with over 95% of the English language test solved (Matej Findri, Daniel Jajetić, and Filip Hrastić) and both tests combined (Vedran Brozović and Marinela Žugaj). In the team category – Daniel Jajetić, Vedran Brozović, Marinela Žugaj, and Lorena Bartolčić won an award as the most active participants, while Michael Tomislav Breyer and his team won in solving the case study.

Lorena Bartolčić also won second place overall at the Universiade. After returning to Croatia, the students were hosted by Dean Prof. Dr. Lajoš Žager and Vice Deans Prof. Dr. Jurica Pavičić and Assistant Prof. Dr. Božidar Jaković, who congratulated them on this great success and discussed their impressions from the competition.

– I always enjoy participating in international schools, workshops, and competitions because I have the opportunity to compare my experience with students from all over the world. This way, I can learn a lot from colleagues at other universities, but at the same time, reinforce my confidence in my own knowledge. I am especially proud of our success at the Universiade in Moscow because it proves that the best students of EFZG are also the best students in Europe and the world, emphasized student Vedran Brozović.
