Skripal Most Likely Poisoned in His Home

Former double Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter, who were poisoned on March 4, had their first contact with the nerve agent in their home in the United Kingdom, British police announced on Wednesday.

– Experts have determined that the highest concentration of the nerve agent was at the entrance to their house, the police stated in a press release.

– Traces of the nerve agent have also been found at other locations where investigators have been working in recent weeks, but in lower concentrations than those found in his home, added Dean Haydon from the London police.

London has accused Russia of being responsible for the poisoning of Sergei Skripal and his daughter, which Moscow denies. Following the example of the United Kingdom, which expelled 23 Russian diplomats in response to the poisoning, more than 25 countries have announced similar measures since the beginning of the week, to which Russia has promised to respond with countermeasures.

The United States has decided to expel 60 Russian diplomats. Investigators have isolated the bench where the two victims were found, the pub and restaurant where they stayed, and the grave of Skripal’s wife. The investigation, involving around 250 experts, could take months.

– People living in the neighborhood of the Skripals and his daughter can expect police to investigate there, but I want to reiterate that the danger is very low and this investigation is being conducted out of caution, added Dean Haydon.

Sergei Skripal and his daughter are still in the hospital in a coma.
