Former Deputy Prime Minister for Investments Domagoj Ivan Milošević has been focused on European affairs for over a year, while entrepreneurship and the economy have taken a back seat. However, in just over a week, Milošević will become one of the main HDZ figures responsible for entrepreneurs and craftsmen.

He stated for tportal that he believes this year should see bolder continuation of tax relief for labor and capital, and emphasizes that a reform of the entire public sector and healthcare system should begin, as well as completing the privatization of state shares in companies operating in the market.

– There are a number of companies in the state portfolio that do not belong there, such as some hotel companies or Podravka. The state plays too large a role in the market and its influence must be reduced. It must take care of state wealth, and it will only do so effectively if it stops managing sectors where the private sector is much more efficient. It is the state’s responsibility to develop and retain infrastructure, natural monopolies, and companies that manage natural resources such as water and forests, Milošević explained his viewpoint.
