The Croatian Journalists’ Association and HEP Supply have announced the competition for the annual Velebitska Degenija awards for the best journalistic work on environmental protection.
Works published in print and online, on radio and television, as well as photography, can be submitted for the period from March 1, 2017, to February 28, 2018.

The first ‘Velebitska Degenija’ award was presented in 1999 and has since been continuously awarded in three categories (print and internet, radio and TV), while a prize for the best newspaper photography category was introduced in 2016.
Award
The annual award for the best journalistic works in environmental protection ‘Velebitska Degenija’ was initiated in 1998 by the Environmental Journalists’ Section of the Croatian Journalists’ Association and the company APO, which was succeeded in 2016 by another member of the HEP group – HEP Supply.
The ‘Velebitska Degenija’ award consists of a monetary amount of 10,000 kuna and a plaque.
The deadline for submitting proposals is April 3, 2018, and more information about the competition can be found on the website of the Croatian Journalists’ Association.
