Chinese shipyard Wuchang has delivered a megalomanic cargo ship that will transport iron ore between Brazil and China. The ship named Ore Tianjin weighs 400 thousand tons and has a capacity equivalent to 6,666 freight wagons. Measuring 362 meters in length and 65 meters in width, it can sail 25,500 nautical miles on a single tank of fuel, reports Xinhuanet.

Chen Qing, the company’s general director, stated that the ship will operate on liquefied natural gas (LNG), which could reduce transportation costs by 30 percent, and pollution will be significantly lower than that of conventional cargo ships.
Additionally, the ship features an advanced mechanism that will allow the loading of 400 thousand tons of ore to take 16.7 hours. Before delivery, the ship underwent testing.
Zhao Guicai, president of ICBC Leasing, which purchased the ship, emphasized that this cargo ship is the best choice for transport between Brazil and China as it is economical and protects the marine environment.
