On the occasion of the greatest Christian holiday, Easter, the city of Vukovar will provide a one-time financial aid, known as the Easter bonus, to users entitled to housing allowances with social status, with each user receiving 250 kuna, announced Vukovar Mayor Ivan Penava at a press conference on Thursday.
– Aid will be provided to 265 users based on the city’s decision on social welfare, and for this purpose, a total of 66,250 kuna has been secured from the city budget, said Penava, adding that users of the Public Kitchen will also receive assistance for Easter as one of the most socially vulnerable groups among the Vukovar population.

For 90 users of the Public Kitchen, 90 packages have been secured, each containing various festive products with a total value of 180 kuna, thus allocating 16,184 kuna from the city budget for this aid measure.
– Following a socially sensitive policy towards fellow citizens in need who cannot afford a festive meal, and in the desire to make their holidays as warm and beautiful as possible, we are again this year providing the most needy with Easter bonuses or gift packages, said Penava, extending best wishes to all Vukovarians on the occasion of the upcoming Easter holiday. The city of Vukovar allocates about 15 million kuna annually for social welfare measures.
