Plenković Announces Digital Strategy, Inclusion of Croatia in the European Single Digital Market

Digital skills are a driver of economic growth in Europe, and a comprehensive digital strategy should more successfully integrate Croatia into the European single digital market, said Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Mariya Gabriel on Friday.

As stated by the government office, the Prime Minister discussed this on Friday at the Banski Dvori with Commissioner Gabriel, who emphasized that “digital skills are a driver of economic growth in Europe.”

She praised the earlier dialogue with citizens on the topic of Digital Future of Europe held on Friday.

The Croatian government is aware of the importance of a digital society, said Plenković, announcing the imminent adoption of a comprehensive Digital Strategy that will also enable Croatia to more successfully integrate into the European single digital market.

Gabriel welcomed Croatia’s efforts for stronger inclusion in the European single digital market and assessed that it is important to enable digital transformation for entrepreneurs as well.

One of the key priorities of the Croatian government is the digitalization of public administration, and numerous projects have been prepared for this purpose that will soon be realized, emphasized Plenković.

He stated that he discussed this with the Vice President of the European Commission responsible for the single digital market, Andrus Ansip, who recently visited Zagreb, said Plenković.
