Flixbus Introduces New Routes from Slavonia to Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, and Slovakia

The European bus operator Flixbus announced on Wednesday the expansion of its network in the region of Slavonia and Baranja, which will connect four new countries – Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, and Slovakia – starting Thursday, March 22, along with eight new destinations, including airports in Budapest and Vienna.

At the presentation in Osijek, the company’s business development director Dean Čebohin emphasized that from Slavonia, Flixbus buses will provide direct travel to seven countries and 20 destinations, making Slavonia part of the European bus network.

Flixbus highlights that its network is continuously growing, currently connecting more than 1,400 destinations in 26 European countries with 250,000 daily connections.

Čebohin assessed that Slavonia has significant tourist potential, but until now, as an extremely important crossroads in Eastern Europe, it has been poorly connected with neighboring countries and deserves better transport connectivity.

He pointed out that by collaborating with Croatian Post and the Osijek public transport provider – City Passenger Transport, they will aim to expand the ticket sales network, and the company will continue to develop and expand its business this year by networking destinations and introducing a greater number of departures on existing routes.

Company representatives emphasize that there are many young and active people in Croatia eager for travel and experiences, who need simple and quick travel to their desired destinations, fast ticket purchases, and travel that offers everything they need – free internet, power outlets, comfort, and safety.

According to Flixbus statistics, the majority of bus travelers are between the ages of 18 and 35.
