Dalekovod production: The claim of a 20 percent salary reduction is not true

The company Dalekovod production on Thursday denied the claims made by the strike committee of the Dalekovod production union, which stated in recent days that salaries and other workers’ rights are being reduced, and layoffs are being prepared.

According to a statement from Dalekovod production, the information about a drastic 20 percent salary reduction for all employees is not true.

“The company has,” it adds in the statement, “already announced several times what measures will be implemented in the restructuring, namely that the seniority bonus of 0.5 percent per year of service will be abolished, that the value of the point will be reduced by 2.1 percent, but a variable part of the salary is also being introduced, which can compensate for and exceed the reductions.”

This specifically means, they emphasize from Dalekovod, that depending on the achieved results, the total salary mass will be reduced by between 1 and 8 percent, and within that average, the salaries of the best and most efficient individuals will increase, the majority of workers will remain the same, while some will see a reduction. The information about layoffs is also not true, as the restructuring process is being carried out without dismissals, and all workers are being offered contracts under new conditions, they emphasize in Dalekovod production.

Dalekovod production states that the information about the response to the strike provided by the strike committee is completely untrue.

“In the first three days, out of a total of 580 employees, 253 workers are on strike, or 43 percent,” they state from Dalekovod production.

The strike, which began on Tuesday, March 13, in the morning, was organized by the Dalekovod production union, while the Croatian Metalworkers’ Union suggested to its members not to participate in the strike, it adds. It is assessed that the actions of the Dalekovod production union are causing enormous damage to the company and halting processes that open perspectives for future projects.

According to the company’s assessment, the strike is a consequence of the rejection of restructuring measures deemed necessary by the management of Dalekovod production.

Workers of Dalekovod production have been on strike since March 13, after unsuccessful negotiations with the newly appointed CEO Gordan Kolak regarding a new collective agreement and failed mediation between the negotiating committees of the union and the employer. The union claims that the management has not been understanding of its demands, that it wants to reduce salaries and other workers’ rights.
