Schwarzenegger Announces Lawsuit Against Oil Companies for ‘Knowingly Killing People’

Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger plans to sue oil companies because, he claims, they are knowingly killing people around the world. In a recent interview, he stated that he is still preparing the lawsuit and is in negotiations with private law firms, reports The Hill.

He compared the oil industry to the tobacco industry, saying that they have been aware for years and decades that smoking kills people, but they hid it from the public, ultimately having to pay hundreds of millions of dollars in court for it.

He claims that oil companies have been aware since 1959 that global warming is occurring due to fossil fuels, which they proved with their own study, and ultimately that they endanger human lives.

– It is absolutely irresponsible to know that your product kills people and not have a warning label like those on tobacco products, explains Schwarzenegger.

He believes that every gas station, every car, and every product containing fossil fuel should have a warning label. Additionally, he hopes that awareness of the harmful effects of fossil fuels will spread globally.
