Petrov on the Ruling Party: They Are Protecting Their Seats, Important Topics Are Not Discussed

The leader of Most, Božo Petrov, on Wednesday told the ruling party that they behave according to the model “Everything for the seat, the seat for nothing,” as instead of discussing important topics for the lives of citizens, they debate ideological issues. He asked them when was the last time they spent four hours in the HDZ club discussing Agrokor, agriculture, or the emigration of young people from Croatia.

– Colleague Bačić, when was the last time you spent four hours in the HDZ club discussing these topics? When did you talk about issues in Agrokor? When did you talk about agriculture? About people leaving Croatia? I dream of the day when the Prime Minister will come and tell his parliamentary representatives that if the situation does not improve, if we do not reform public administration, we are going to elections, half of you will not be here, said Petrov after the break at the beginning of the parliamentary session.

He also reminded them of the assessment by the European Commission:

– We are among the three countries that have been rated as unacceptable, or irreparable. We are in excessive imbalance, GDP is slowing down, industrial production has been falling for three consecutive months, public debt has exceeded 300 billion, our country is demographically melting like an ice floe. Now, imagine this situation, if we do not reform the judiciary and this does not become a just country, we are going to elections, half of you will not be here. That would be great!, said the leader of Most.

– I fear that in your struggle for seats and securing power, you have lost the concept of what is essential. The Croatian person does not live from Ustashe, from partisans, from ideologies. Only you live from that, Petrov told the ruling party.
