In five years, we could correct the land registries and cadastre and simultaneously embark on the consolidation of agricultural land if pension funds, in addition to the state, participate in such a project. This involves investing in state agricultural land. Additionally, both state and private agricultural lands would thus increase in value.
This is a solution for mutual benefit or, rather, multiple benefits. This idea was proposed by the former director of the Agency for Agricultural Land, Blaženka Mičević, who is now the director of the consulting company Agrodet.
If one million hectares of state agricultural land were entrusted to pension funds for management over twenty years, they could generate ten billion kuna from leasing, thus making it feasible to invest five billion kuna in organizing the cadastre, land registries, and property law relations.
