The Minister of Transport, Sea and Infrastructure Oleg Butković attended the opening of the works on the first phase of the Bjelovar eastern bypass worth 60 million kuna on Wednesday, and signed a contract with Bjelovar Mayor Dario Hrebak for the renovation of the roads leading from Bjelovar to Farkaševac, in order to open the section of the expressway Vrbovec – Farkaševac as soon as possible.
The company Strabag has begun construction of the first phase of the eastern Bjelovar bypass, which is expected to relieve freight traffic from the center of Bjelovar. The works are valued at 60 million kuna, and the deadline for their completion is 20 months.

Completion of the expressway Vrbovec – Farkaševac
Minister Butković emphasized that the construction of the bypass represents a small step towards the goal of the Government of the Republic of Croatia to connect Bjelovar with Zagreb in a quality manner. The completion of the expressway currently under construction on the section Vrbovec – Farkaševac, which is designed from Farkaševac towards Bjelovar, will help the most.
– Just at the location where the construction of the bypass begins, investments worth one hundred million euros are underway, and when completed, about a hundred trucks will pass through that road daily. This fact best illustrates how important the construction of the bypass is, explained Mayor Hrebak.
