The growth was largely achieved in export markets, where 77 percent of revenue was generated in 2017. The previous year was also marked by a 20 percent increase in the largest and most significant Italian market, according to Cromaris data.

The achieved business results, as they explain, are a consequence of Cromaris’s growth and development strategy based on top product quality with the shortest possible delivery time from catch to end consumer.

Due to the proximity of neighboring markets and the organization of the logistics system, Cromaris products reach the Italian, Slovenian, and Croatian markets within 24 hours, or 48 hours from catch to other key markets.

Cromaris currently exports more than three-quarters of its total sales. In addition to the Italian market, which is also the largest global market for gilthead bream and sea bass, Cromaris is present in the markets of Slovenia, Poland, Austria, Germany, France, Switzerland, Hungary, Ukraine, and about ten other countries, where it supplies the largest retail chains, the company emphasizes.

Cromaris Goals

They also emphasize the growth of the newly built hatchery in Nin, where more than 20 million pieces of fish fry were produced in 2017.

Cromaris also highlights that they made progress last year in the field of research and development, for example, developing their own fish feed recipes in 2017, and they announce that they will continue with production-technology innovations this year, as well as intensive marketing activities and communication with consumers.

Cromaris Director Goran Markulin says they are satisfied with the results achieved in 2017, another year of strong growth for Cromaris.

– We are ready for further competition with our rivals, especially in our most important markets, primarily the Italian market as the largest and fastest-growing market. We are strengthening our position in other markets where we are present, and we are also working on opening new ones, said Markulin, adding that they continue to insist on top quality and freshness, which are the basis of Cromaris’s competitive advantage.
