Elderly kangaroo Dave, who lives in the Bronx Zoo, is recently being treated with cryotherapy due to osteoarthritis, which is the most common rheumatic disease today among humans, but it also affects animals.
Zoo director Jim Breheny told the Daily News that fifteen-year-old Dave has been suffering from this rheumatic condition for a long time and is finding it increasingly difficult to move.

He also states that the treatment for the zoo’s resident in the Bronx may seem exotic to the uninitiated, but adds that it is just one type of therapy applied by around 200 veterinary specialists to 7,000 animal species in this New York zoo.
