Instead of Wednesday, parliamentary representatives begin work on Monday

Due to the extensive agenda awaiting them until the Easter recess, parliamentary representatives will begin their plenary working week on Monday instead of the usual Wednesday, and on Tuesday there should finally be a session of the parliamentary Committee for the Constitution on the topic of amendments to the proposal of the new parliamentary Rules of Procedure.

The week will start with a discussion on the Final proposal of the law on family farms, which aims to define the family farm as a recognizable and accepted organizational form of farmers and to expand the activities of family farms, develop their own production capacities, as well as enable economic growth, development, and restructuring of family farms and agriculture.

The law establishes the conditions for conducting agricultural economic activities and related supplementary activities on family farms, as well as the manner and conditions for registration in the Register of Family Farms, the responsibilities and rights of family farm holders and members, competent authorities, and oversight in the application of the law.

The possibility of conducting supplementary activities on family farms, such as the production of non-food products and general use items, providing hospitality or tourism services, is established with the intention that one family has one family farm that enables sustainable management and self-employment of family members.

The proposed law will protect production resources such as tractors, combines, and livestock, necessary for conducting agriculture from foreclosure, as well as property necessary for family life and housing. The Register of Family Farms will be public to accurately know who produces what and how much.

The final proposal of the law accepted comments related to the nomotechnical and linguistic harmonization of legal provisions, clearer definition of the seat of the family farm. To prevent administrative bureaucratic repression to their detriment, the issuance of warnings for non-compliance with legal provisions has been prescribed, and penalties are only a last resort. The provision relating to the solidarity guarantee of family farm members has been removed, and for better implementation, the financial amounts of funds exempt from foreclosure have been defined.
