A small marketing agency ‘Make Collective’ from Christchurch pays each employee who arrives at work by bicycle five New Zealand dollars (approximately 22 kuna).

The amount is doubled if the mode of transport is used for more than half of the working days in the year.
– I was thinking about how to encourage people to embrace cycling. And nothing rings louder than money, said the company’s owner Tim Chesney.

All six of his employees decided to accept the offer. Chesney hopes this will positively impact their health, which could lead to less sick leave.
