In the mobile network, due to the absence of seasonal effects compared to the previous quarter, the fourth quarter of 2017 was marked by a decline in the number of users and traffic. Concurrently, due to the increase in the use of communication services such as Viber, WhatsApp, Skype, and others, the number of sent SMS and MMS messages has continuously decreased by about 11 percent compared to the same period last year, HAKOM stated.
In the structure of mobile network users at the end of 2017, users with subscription relationships predominated, which is assessed as a result of the offer of various tariff packages with attractive device/tablet offers and the growing popularity of smartphones.

At the end of 2017, according to HAKOM data, there were 1,095,000 broadband internet access connections in the fixed network in Croatia, which is 5 percent more compared to 2016. The number of high-speed broadband connections has also increased, accounting for about 24 percent of the total number of broadband connections in the fixed network.
Through the mobile network, about 82 percent of the population of Croatia has access to the internet, HAKOM data shows.
