Jandroković: I hope we will complete the major project of saving Agrokor by summer

The President of the Croatian Parliament, Gordan Jandroković, expressed hope on Monday that the new extraordinary commissioner for Agrokor, Fabris Peruško, will successfully and effectively conclude the process related to the company and achieve a settlement that will preserve it.

– Changes have occurred, which I believe are justified. I believe that the new commissioner will effectively conclude this process, that a settlement will be reached that will preserve the company, jobs, and Croatian suppliers. I hope that by summer, we will finally be able to say that this major project related to the rescue of Agrokor has been successfully completed, said Jandroković in the show “From Mark’s Square” on Croatian Radio.

Peruško and Weber on April 5 before the Economic Committee

He confirmed that Peruško and his deputy Irena Weber will appear before the Parliamentary Economic Committee on April 5.

– This is a practice introduced by the Committee President Darinko Kosor (HSLS), and already at the first meeting of the Committee, it was shown that this discussion is useful. I believe that it is very useful for both the public and the representatives to conduct such a form of inquiry once more, he said.

He disagrees with the assertion that this Committee meeting marked the beginning of Ante Ramljak’s departure. At the moment it became clear that there were contracts between Alix Partners and the company where the former commissioner once worked, he stated, it became clear that this was a business practice that was not desirable, and in his opinion, it was clear that it could not continue like this.

– Changes were necessary, and the Committee meeting only further provided direction and accelerated this process, said the President of the Parliament.

He expects that ‘lex Agrokor’ will pass the constitutionality test, and regarding its amendments, he says it will be seen whether this law needs to be changed in the coming months.

The recall of Martina Dalić will not pass

– In my opinion, that initiative will not succeed, meaning they will not be able to remove the Deputy Prime Minister, commented Jandroković on the opposition’s intention to unitedly request the recall of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Martina Dalić, noting that it is the legitimate right of the opposition to question the work of ministers and the Government.

– I am convinced that there will be no success here, that this will be yet another initiative in which the opposition will suffer defeat, he stated.

Reflecting on the recommendations of the Council for Confronting the Consequences of the Rule of Undemocratic Regimes, he emphasized that the Council has put in a great effort, respects the outcome of its work, but does not like the reaction of part of the public where they were received “with hostility”.

– We should continue the conversation on this topic, calm the passions, but some people who engage in public discussion do so in an unacceptable manner, very exclusively, and even offensively, says Jandroković.

Here, he emphasizes, it is about recommendations, this is very good material to start the discussion, and he calls on everyone to calm their passions, not to be exclusive, and to try to seek solutions in a civilized atmosphere. He agrees that these recommendations will not be easy to “translate” into laws, and he did not comment on the timeframe in which this could happen.
