First Day of Easter Allowance Payments for Retirees and Unemployed in Sisak

On the very first day of Easter allowance payments for retirees and the unemployed in Sisak, for which the City allocated 2.5 million kuna, hundreds of residents of Sisak lined up on Monday in front of the city treasury counters.

The mayor, Kristina Ikić Baniček, decided to distribute the Easter allowances thanks to the favorable situation in the city budget, and around 2.5 million kuna will be paid to citizens who are currently in the most difficult situation. Payments will be made until the end of March at the treasury counters of the Kontroba and Caprag markets, as well as at the Sisak Waterworks counter.

The mayor was present at the beginning of the Easter allowance payments.

– More than 9,700 retirees will receive the Easter allowance, and for the first time, more than 3,500 unemployed individuals. All unemployed will receive 150 kuna, while retirees are, as last year, divided into four categories depending on the amount of their pension. There is a very high interest in collecting the Easter allowances, so we have also engaged additional staff at the city treasury counters, said Mayor Ikić Baniček.

She emphasized that those who are not on the list, i.e., have not received a notification about the Easter allowance payment, are allowed to come to the treasury with a statement of their last pension and collect the Easter allowance, and that family members can do this for the sick or immobile.

Retirees with a pension of up to 1,500 kuna will receive 300 kuna, those with a pension from 1,500 to 2,000 kuna will receive 200 kuna, those receiving a pension from 2,000 to 3,000 will receive 150 kuna, and retirees with a pension from 3,000 to 5,000 kuna will receive 100 kuna as an Easter allowance. All retirees and unemployed individuals residing in the city area have received a notification about the Easter allowance at their home address, which they must have with them during the payment, along with their personal identification card.

The City of Sisak compiled the list of retirees and unemployed based on the records of the HZMO and HZZ. In case a retiree or unemployed person residing in the area of the city of Sisak has not received a notification about the Easter allowance at their home address, they can collect it based on a confirmation from the HZMO about their status, and the unemployed at the Regional Office of the HZZ. Individuals with such confirmations can collect the Easter allowance at the counters from March 23 to April 14.
