Viro Group Finished Last Year with a Loss of 79.4 Million Kuna

The loss of Viro Group in 2017 amounted to 79.4 million kuna, in contrast to the previous year when it recorded a profit of 57.5 million kuna, according to data from the company’s financial report.

Viro Sugar Factory and the companies included in the consolidation (Sladorana Županja, Slavonija Županja, Viro-cooperation, and Viro BiH) achieved total consolidated revenues of 1.07 billion kuna in 2017, which is 9.5 percent less than in 2016.

Sales revenues amounted to 1.02 billion kuna and fell by 12.3 percent, while financial revenues increased by 194 percent, to 39 million kuna.

Total consolidated expenses of the group amounted to 1.15 billion kuna, which is 2.1 percent higher than in 2016. Personnel costs increased by 10 percent, to 57.3 million kuna, while depreciation costs decreased by 4.6 percent, to 55.6 million kuna, the report states.

The parent company, Viro Sugar Factory, recorded a loss of 57.3 million kuna in 2017, in contrast to the previous year when it achieved a profit of 37.2 million kuna.

The company’s total revenues amounted to 898.4 million kuna and increased by 26 percent, while total expenses also grew by 41 percent, to 955.7 million kuna.

Sales revenues in the previous year amounted to 847.56 million kuna and increased by 22 percent.

The report also states that last year the realization of finished products (sugar) increased by 54 percent compared to the previous year, to 207.49 million kilograms, with domestic market realization increasing by 85 percent and exports by 34 percent.
