Successful Season for ACI – Net Profit of 20.3 Million Kuna

The chain of marinas Adriatic Croatia International Club (ACI d.d.) achieved a net profit of 20.3 million kuna last year, which is nearly 86 percent higher than the previous year, the company reported on Wednesday, deeming last year’s season exceptionally successful.

ACI generated total revenues of 201.1 million kuna in 2017, total expenses of 176.1 million kuna, and a positive gross financial result of 25 million kuna.

Operating revenues (revenues from nautical activities – annual, monthly, daily berths, rentals, and other services for sailors) amounted to 190 million kuna, which represents an increase of one percent.

In this context, revenues from monthly berths increased by 17 percent, revenues from rentals and ancillary activities by 10 percent, from other services provided to sailors by six percent, and from daily berths by five percent.

Reconstruction of the Rovinj Marina

Thus, revenues from annual berth services amount to 94.4 million kuna, revenues from daily (transit) berth services amount to 55.9 million kuna, while revenues from monthly berths amount to 10.3 million kuna. Revenue from rentals and ancillary activities amounts to 16 million kuna, while revenues from other services for sailors amount to 11 million kuna.

The most significant investment project in 2017, as highlighted by ACI, was the complete reconstruction of the ACI marina Rovinj.

Among other significant investments during 2017, they highlight the construction of a travel lift pool that was put into operation during the season and the newly renovated golf practice area in ACI marina Dubrovnik, as well as the reconstruction of concrete docks, electrical power supply in ACI marina Vodice, reconstruction of pedestrian areas and the internal terrace of the restaurant in ACI marina Umag, and the reconstruction of the reception in ACI marina Milna.

During 2017, ACI also received 2.7 million kuna in non-repayable funds from European funds for the preparation of project documentation for the reconstruction of the Sorkočević castle located in ACI marina Dubrovnik.

ACI also reminds that the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure made a decision authorizing ACI d.d. to obtain a location permit for a port of special purpose – a nautical tourism port in Novalja on behalf of the Government, as the concession provider.

Company of Special Interest

This concerns an area of 3 port basins, one of which relates to the nautical tourism port that, according to spatial plans, can have up to 400 berths for the accommodation of vessels in the sea. The construction of accompanying buildings for the nautical tourism port (administrative building, space for sailors, reception, commercial, catering, and similar facilities) is also planned.

In addition, by the decision of Šibenik-Knin County, ACI was selected as the best bidder for the concession on the maritime domain for economic use and the establishment of an anchoring system for a port of special purpose – a nautical tourism port – anchorage in the Vozarica bay and Srednja Draga south of Skradin. The concession agreement was signed at the end of December last year, and the duration of the concession is 12 years, the report states.

Otherwise, the ACI from Opatija, in which the state owns 78.58 percent of the ownership, was again returned to the list of companies of special interest in which the state has a majority stake at the beginning of this year.
