Croatia Insurance Achieved a Profit of 251.9 Million Kuna Last Year; 43.2 Percent More Than in 2016

Croatia Insurance achieved a consolidated profit after tax and minority interests of 251.9 million kuna in 2017, representing an increase of 43.2 percent compared to the previous year, according to the financial report of the insurance company.

Total consolidated revenues of Croatia Insurance during the past year amounted to 3.41 billion kuna, which is 4.2 percent higher than in 2016. Total expenses simultaneously increased by approximately two percent, to 3.16 billion kuna.

The total gross premium written by Croatia Insurance at the group level at the end of the last quarter of 2017 amounts to 3.14 billion kuna, which is 4 percent higher compared to the end of 2016. Of this, the gross premium for non-life insurance amounts to 2.5 billion kuna, representing a 4.7 percent annual growth, while the life insurance premium increased by 1.6 percent, to 639.4 million kuna.

The earned premium in the past year amounts to 2.7 billion kuna, which constitutes almost 80 percent of total revenues and is 2.5 percent higher compared to 2016.

In the investment activities of non-life and life insurance, Croatia Insurance achieved revenues of 503.5 million kuna at the group level, which constitutes 14.7 percent of total revenues.

The group’s assets on the last day of 2017 amounted to 11.1 billion kuna, which is an increase of 7.1 percent compared to the state a year ago.
