The agreement of opposition parties to initiate the recall of Minister of Economy Martina Dalić was commented on Wednesday by the president of the HDZ Club of Representatives, Branko Bačić, who stated that his party is “confident that the recall will not pass.”
“The ruling party will not resort to any tricks to delay the process. The procedure is defined by the Rules of Procedure. However, it is a long way from the idea to realization and gathering signatures. I am not sure that everyone in the opposition is thrilled with the fact that Most is taking the lead in the opposition. Whether this is due to some relationships within the SDP, I do not know, but it is clear that while the SDP sends messages of unity, Most boycotts this and thus extracts itself from the position that the SDP directed at us yesterday,” said Bačić.

The process of extraordinary administration in Agrokor is progressing, the situation is slowly stabilizing, he said. “The opposition is trying to undermine the agreement they themselves proposed. As you know, the SDP sent a message agreeing to unity regarding the settlement project in Agrokor. On one hand, they send messages of unity, and on the other, I would say, the SDP is ceding leadership in the opposition to Most, agreeing to their proposal to recall Deputy Prime Minister Martina Dalić. Therefore, the opposition loves to lose, and I think they will experience defeat for the fifth time,” concluded Bačić.
“We will not delay this if it comes to that and if they gather the signatures, as they said, if they are united, and that is 73 signatures, as many as the opposition has votes. Once the provisions of the Rules of Procedure are fulfilled, it will then be sent to the Government for opinion, included on the agenda, and in the shortest time, they will show the unity of the ruling party when it comes to the work of the Government,” he stated.

He is confident that if the proposal to recall Minister Dalić comes to discussion, he can count on three representatives from the SDSS. “The SDSS and all coalition partners will support Mrs. Dalić, after the Government expresses its opinion on this,” Bačić is convinced. In response to the assertion that the leader of the SDSS, Milorad Pupovac, “sends confusing messages, perhaps blackmailing the HDZ and trading,” Bačić replied that Pupovac does not trade. “The ruling majority is united, and it will be so on Friday during the voting, and I would not speculate on who was not inclined to vote for Nataša Novaković for the first time,” Bačić referred to the recent failed election of the head of the Commission for Deciding on Conflicts of Interest because the ruling party failed to gather the required 76 votes, but only 75.
