Ramljak’s resignation jeopardizes the settlement results

Although former SDP finance minister Slavko Linić regularly praised the adoption and implementation of lex Agrokor, he is disappointed by Ante Ramljak’s resignation. He believes that this jeopardizes the adoption of the settlement for the sake of collecting minor political points.

– There is little time left for the settlement. Events like this jeopardize the settlement and there is very little time for someone new to do the job properly. At this moment, it is a tragedy that the opposition has placed its battles to contest the results of the special procedure for managing Agrokor ahead of achieving the settlement, said Linić.

He adds that the process should have been completed because Ramljak’s successor will not have time for proper preparation in a completely new environment and with new people

– The results of the settlement are jeopardized. It was important for the parties to diminish Plenković’s results and create a deadlock situation for Ramljak, a situation in which it was no longer possible to work, and now no one will think about whether Ramljak was paying fair compensation, explains Linić.

Linić is also supported by the CEO of Podravka, Marin Pucar, who stated that he had a correct cooperation with Ramljak and that it would have been better if his resignation had not occurred.

The representative of small producers and farmers in the temporary creditors’ council of Agrokor, Mato Brlošić, also regrets Ramljak’s resignation.

– I believe we would have reached a settlement if he had stayed, and now it will not be so easy. He was in constant contact with us suppliers and we trusted him, admits Brlošić.

Purko: Processes in Agrokor are compromised

The deputy president of the Association of Small Shareholders of Agrokor, Miroslav Jeličić Purko, requested Ramljak’s resignation back in December last year, and believes that it is the only correct move because the processes in Agrokor are compromised.

– I do not know why the process would be jeopardized. Ramljak’s resignation is the only correct procedure, and I was the first to request it. At that time, there were doubts that the process in Agrokor was compromised, which Ramljak only confirmed with his statement that Agrokor’s shares are worth zero, emphasizes Purko.

He claims that in the case of Agrokor, no one did their job properly, except for the Commercial Court, which annulled the guarantees provided for Agrokor’s loans by companies that are members of the group.

– The next commissioner must determine what happened under Ramljak. It needs to be answered whether creditors met with him before he came to Agrokor. Because of that, they could find themselves under fire. It also needs to be answered why 500 million euros in loans were taken when only 200 was needed; it needs to be answered why only certain banks entered the roll-up and why there was no public call to shareholders and suppliers, concludes Purko.

Ivica Todorić claims that the appointment of a new commissioner will not change anything, and that in Agrokor, he says, looting will continue to the detriment of the company itself.
