Pucar: It Would Be Better If Ramljak Had Not Left

The CEO of Podravka, Marin Pucar, stated during his appearance on HRT’s Dnevnik that he had a correct collaboration with Ramljak and that it would have been better if his resignation had not occurred.

He expressed hope that within the next seven to ten days, everything agreed upon with his team would be fulfilled, specifically that the 29 million euros of outstanding debt to suppliers would be paid.

He did not want to speculate on the appointment of Ramljak’s successor, but expects that his career and experience will lend credibility to complete this process, which he says is already in an advanced stage.

Agrokor’s suppliers are expected to meet with Prime Minister Plenković on Monday, who announced that they should find out this week who will succeed Ante Ramljak. They hope that the appointment will lead to a final settlement in Agrokor.

The resolution of the outstanding debt in full, the agreement on old debt which is in the final phase, and the request for greater understanding regarding the promissory notes and loans that suppliers have given to Agrokor are the topics of the meeting with the Prime Minister.

When asked what level of debt write-off would be acceptable for Podravka, Pucar replied that his company is very minimally exposed, with 60 million kuna.

– It is not only in our interest to complete the settlement; the contractual part is much more important where we want the entire Agrokor, especially the retail chains in Croatia and the region, to remain stable, thus allowing Croatian companies to preserve their market positions, emphasizes Pucar.

He adds that, considering how much work has been done, a complete concept of the settlement can be expected to be defined by July.

– What we all hope for is that as many creditors as possible are in the settlement process so that there is as little room as possible for complaints and disputes regarding the settlement.
