An American who wanted to get rid of weasels managed to destroy his home in the suburbs of Detroit in the process, local authorities reported.
Detroit Free Press reports that his attempt to drive out the pests with a smoke bomb resulted in a fire that quickly spread throughout the house he rented.

Fire Chief in Ferndale, Kevin P. Sullivan, stated that the house was destroyed to the ground, but no burned weasel corpses were found, meaning that all escaped.
Sullivan advised people to hire professionals for such jobs. It is unknown how the owner of the burned house reacted.
