Bačić: I believe the Prime Minister will close the story around Agrokor by Wednesday

The Prime Minister and President of HDZ, Andrej Plenković, did not want to give a concrete answer on Monday regarding the name of the new commissioner for Agrokor, briefly stating that there are several candidates.

– There are, there are several, Plenković told reporters before the start of the Presidency and National Council meeting of HDZ when asked if there is a name for the new commissioner for Agrokor. When asked what kind of candidate the commissioner is, he replied: “The best.”

The President of the HDZ Club in Parliament, Branko Bačić, believes that Prime Minister Plenković will “close the story around Agrokor” by Wednesday and that the name of the new commissioner for Agrokor will be known before the Government meeting on Thursday.

– I believe it will be done before then, Bačić told reporters when asked if they would have to wait until Thursday and the Government meeting to find out his name.

He believes it is in everyone’s interest to reach a settlement and satisfy creditors and suppliers.

– I believe that the new commissioner and the team that will take over will take into account the common interest – to stabilize Agrokor for the purpose of stabilizing the economy in Croatia, he emphasized.

When asked about the position of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, he replied that she is “the Deputy Prime Minister.”

The Minister of Administration, Lovro Kuščević, stated that the new commissioner for Agrokor must complete the well-begun job, preserve all jobs, and stabilize the economy.

Commenting on the announcements of a new motion for the recall of Martina Dalić, he said it would be another “shot in the dark by the opposition.”

He believes that by July it will finally be possible to say that the “saga about Agrokor” is behind us, that jobs have been preserved, and the economy has not collapsed. When asked what will happen with Minister Martina Dalić if that does not happen, he said that they would “talk differently.”

The President of the Croatian Parliament and Secretary General of HDZ, Gordan Jandroković, told reporters that, in addition to Agrokor, the meeting of the Presidency and National Council will also discuss the upcoming parliamentary session and a financial report will be presented, which shows, he emphasized, that HDZ is in the plus.
