After a sudden resignation caused by dissatisfaction with the government’s demographic policy, former State Secretary for Demography Marin Strmota still does not wish to discuss his resignation, reports RTL.
At his old job, the Faculty of Economics, he briefly stated to reporters that when the time comes, everyone will receive a statement. His colleagues at the faculty consider his resignation to be sincere and emotional.
Strmota is one of the favorite professors at the Faculty of Economics, where he studied and obtained his doctorate.
– I think it is a loss for the ministry; the demographic problem needs to be addressed, and for us, it will be a gain as he returns to the department and we will have a fantastic professor with us again, explains Zdenka Damjanić, a professor at the Department of Demography at the Faculty of Economics.

– He is very active, thoughtful, not just a scientist who only looks at books, and it is normal that he is a social being and is interested in Croatia; he loves Croatia very much and is concerned about the well-being of Croatia’s development, adds Damjanić.
And from the General High School in Biograd, which Strmota attended, they have only words of praise.
– He has always been exemplary, conscientious, responsible, talented, and what else can I say, all the best, said Strmota’s former class teacher Veselko Pezo.
The former principal of the school, Božo Došen, was saddened by the resignation but emphasizes that Strmota has always adhered to his principles.
– According to my knowledge and the knowledge of some of his friends, with whom I have been in contact, it is clear that he was principled and wanted to establish order; it seems to me that his resignation is in order, said Došen.
Support has also arrived from his hometown of Biograd
– He has shown that there are still correct and responsible people working in those positions; he is a true hero for us, said Anđela Vulin from Biograd na Moru.

Strmota stated that he has two children, an unemployed wife, and parents, and drives a 10-year-old Golf, which is also noted in his asset declaration. He does not own real estate but has two loans.
Minister Murganić has not made any statements today. From sources close to her, we learn that there was no indication that the resignation was planned, and Strmota did not express dissatisfaction.
