Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and the Faculty of Health Studies in Rijeka signed a business cooperation agreement on Wednesday, aimed at enhancing the quality of education and training for students as well as ongoing education for employees of social welfare institutions founded by the county.
County Prefect Zlatko Komadina stated that this formalizes the existing cooperation, whereby students of the Faculty of Health Studies gain experience and perform internships in county institutions, primarily in homes for the elderly, while on the other hand, employees of these institutions can further their education at this faculty and acquire specific and sought-after knowledge and skills.

Dean of the Faculty of Health Studies Alan Šustić emphasized that the demand for professional staff is particularly pronounced in the border areas of health and social care.
Komadina noted that professions related to social care are increasingly sought after, and the need for such personnel is growing, making the established cooperation between the Faculty and the county even more valuable.

The signing of the agreement was also attended by the Rector of the University of Rijeka Snježana Prijić Samaržija, who assessed the relationship between the county and the University as exemplary. The Faculty of Health Studies is the youngest component of the University, but a very dynamic and attractive place to study, she said.
