In Vukovar, a contract was signed for co-financing the Manager Training Program

The Vukovar-Srijem County Prefect Božo Galić and the Deputy Director General of the Croatian Employers’ Association Bernard Jakelić signed a contract on Monday in Vukovar for co-financing the Manager Training Program (PUMA) for the education of entrepreneurs from the county and gifted final-year students of the J.J. Strossmayer University of Osijek and the Lavoslav Ružička Polytechnic in Vukovar during 2018.

This program has been implemented by HUP and Vukovar-Srijem County for 12 years, and this year the county is providing 25,000 kuna for it.

Through this program, entrepreneurs and young university-educated individuals gain practical knowledge and skills through seminars and workshops, which will contribute in the best and most effective way to the economic development of the county.

– In this way, we jointly conduct education for entrepreneurs and people who will lead companies tomorrow. The knowledge they gain today will be used tomorrow in incubators, agro-centers, development centers, and elsewhere, emphasized Prefect Božo Galić, reminding that around a thousand participants from the Vukovar-Srijem County have completed this program in 12 years.

The Deputy Director General of HUP, Jakelić, stated that this method of education is specific because “on education, topics are formed that are needed in practice and represent a practical reaction to the need that arises in a certain area.”

He added that there is great interest in the PUMA program and that its participants rate the lecturers with a very high average score of 4.95, which indicates that they have met their expectations.

The education is focused on general knowledge in the fields of management, marketing, and governance, as well as on regulatory standards that can improve the quality of management in business.
