“The future of children is at stake, and they are neither right nor left,” said Boris Jokić on the show Otvoreno, where he reiterated his views on the current, mostly ideological disputes and upheavals accompanying the implementation of educational reform.
“The problem is not who appointed whom, but to which ideological option someone belongs, or does not belong,” he said. “In Croatia, ideological disputes are simple because people easily come together when it comes to lies, theft, fame, and power. Lies and theft are the main ideological paradigm today in Croatia.”

The former head of the curricular reform also stated that new programs should be implemented “gradually, not overnight.”
“In the end, if teachers do not have money to get to school and if the roof is leaking, how can that reform be implemented?” Jokić said.
Public Call
The discussion also included the advisor to the Minister of Science and Education, Maro Alavanja, who announced a public call for schools to participate in the experimental application of the curricular reform.

“On Friday, a public call will go out for schools that want to participate in the experimental implementation of the curricular reform, and there will be about 3 schools from each county,” Alavanja stated, adding that the results will be published and publicly available in 15 days with a level of transparency that we did not have in the previous competition.
Alavanja added that in the experimental phase, both printed and digital textbooks will be used and emphasized the importance of vocational education reform for which one billion kuna has been secured from EU funds.
