A boy from Brisbane learned the hard way that showering during a thunderstorm is not a good idea.
The boy was struck by an electric shock while showering on Sunday evening after lightning struck near his home in the Brisbane suburb of Ferny Grove. He was taken to the hospital conscious, but with leg pain, and his injuries are not life-threatening, reported Queensland’s emergency services.

The storm left 60,000 Australian households in the Brisbane area without power.
According to the energy company Energex, people were left in the dark after 265,000 lightning strikes were recorded, which disabled the power grid. Part of public transport ceased to operate and some schools were closed.
