An unknown woman knocked on the door of an 85-year-old woman and stole several hundred thousand kuna after falsely presenting herself as a bank employee, the Zagreb police reported on Friday.
The fraudster deceived the woman on Wednesday, on Božidar Rašica Street in Zagreb’s Trešnjevka, and according to unofficial data, she stole nearly 400,000 kuna.

The police once again warn citizens not to let unknown individuals who attempt to enter their homes and gain possession of their money or other valuables, as these are fraudsters who exploit the vulnerability of the elderly, falsely presenting themselves as bank employees, masseuses, or police officers.

The police state that citizens should immediately notify them at number 192 in case they receive phone calls from unknown individuals asking them to do something with their money, gold, and other valuable items, or telling them that someone will come to their address for a money or gold check.
