New Media Market: You Won’t Believe It, Journalists Are Trusted More and More, and Robots Are Not to Be Dismissed

Who invested the most in advertising last year, who broke free from shackles, who is becoming new media slaves, and who is watching you and how, you won’t believe it, but it could become clearer after you get your hands on the new issue of Lider’s annual special ‘Media Market’. However, it would be more precise to ask ‘what’ instead of ‘who’.

Almost 1.5 billion kuna, it is revealed in ‘Media Market’, is what advertisements have recently brought to the media annually. However, Rajna Cuculić, CEO of GroupM Croatia, reveals in an interview that, according to current analyses, a decline in the Croatian advertising market is expected. The data on readership, listenership, viewership, and media traffic in Croatia for 2017, on which the advertising industry rests, is also intriguing.

There is also questioning about what is happening in newspaper, radio, television, and web editorial offices, where robots and artificial intelligence have crept in, and the topic of women’s reality is provocatively addressed. Female journalists, editors, directors, marketing and communication experts eagerly and passionately shared what bothers, offends, and delights them in their work.

In a series of topics under the common denominator ‘shock and disbelief’, the ‘Media Market’ edition (which has been on the market alongside Lider since February 9) also narrates how ‘clickbait’ is in action, that journalists are trusted more and more, and that you are important enough to be your own biggest enemy, at least when it comes to the traps of web tracking.
