There will be no introduction of a property tax, and I am certain that due to the determination of property values, it will not be possible to implement this during the term of this Government, stated Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction and Spatial Planning Predrag Štromar on Wednesday.
Denying media reports that a property tax is being introduced through amendments to the Law on Communal Economy, Štromar said that he has not spoken about this tax at all, nor can it be introduced just like that because the issue of determining property values must be resolved first.

This cannot be proposed by the Ministry of Construction but only by the Ministry of Finance together with the Prime Minister, and this is not possible even in the next three years, i.e., during the term of the current Government, Štromar asserted at a press conference dedicated to the interests of applicants for energy renovation projects and the use of renewable energy sources in public sector buildings.
When asked what would be achieved by amending the Law on Communal Economy, Štromar replied that it is about aligning with EU directives, and the communal fee remains the same as it was in the previous law.
