We announce the most important events in politics and the economy for Monday, February 5:
ZAGREB – The ceremonial opening of the Judicial Academy project “Introduction and implementation of a foreign language education program for judicial officials, advisors, and staff in the judiciary.” The attendees will be addressed by Minister of Justice Dražen Bošnjaković, President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Croatia Đuro Sessa, Chief State Attorney Dinko Cvitan, and Director of the Judicial Academy Andrea Posavec Franić, while the project will be presented by project leader Nella Popović (1 PM, Hotel Dubrovnik, Zrinski Hall).
ZAGREB – On the occasion of World Cancer Day, at a press conference, experts and representatives of patient associations will warn about so-called rare tumors, from which approximately 4.3 million people in the European Union are affected, and it is estimated that more than 500,000 new cases of rare tumors are discovered each year. The conference will feature doc. dr. sc. Sanja Pleština (KBC Zagreb, Jordanovac Clinic for Lung Diseases, Department for Rare Thoracic Tumors), dr. sc. Marija Gamulin (KBC Zagreb – Oncology Clinic), prof. dr. sc. Snježana Tomić (KBC Split, Clinical Institute for Pathology, Forensic Medicine), Ljiljana Vukota, Secretary General of the association SVE for NJU, and Ivica Belina, President of the Coalition of Associations in Health (11 AM, HND Press House, Great Hall, Perkovčeva 2).
ZAGREB – Thematic session of the Economic-Social Council on the strategy for introducing the euro as the official currency in the Republic of Croatia (12:30 PM, Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, Vukovar Street 78 (large hall/ground floor). Filmmakers and photo reporters can capture the beginning of the session, after which media statements are possible.
VARAŽDIN/VARAŽDINSKE TOPLICE – Minister of Environment and Energy Tomislav Ćorić will visit Varaždin County, where he will hold a working meeting at 12:30 PM in the office of the Varaždin County Prefect Radimir Čačić (Franjevački trg 7). After that, the minister will go to Varaždinske Toplice to visit the Special Hospital for Medical Rehabilitation (Trg slobode 1, Banquet Hall). At 1:15 PM, a brief address by Minister Ćorić and the Mayor of Varaždinske Toplice Dragica Ratković is planned during the ceremonial signing of the contract for the Recycling Yard of Varaždinske Toplice, and at 1:20 PM, a statement to the media will be given by Mayor Ratković, Prefect Čačić, and Minister Ćorić. This will be followed by a presentation on the possibility of co-financing projects of local government units in the waste management system (1:30 PM). The presentation will be closed to the public, and the media will have the opportunity to take photographs a few minutes before it begins.
