Slovenia will transition from the toll system with toll booths to the barrier-free DarsGo system starting April 1, mandatory for all vehicles weighing over 3.5 tons, and the new system will cover all highways and the Karavanke tunnel, reported the company DKV on Monday.
– DARS cards and ABC devices that have been used so far will cease to be valid from April 1, 2018, and existing prepaid amounts will be refunded to users, said Matej Kranjc from DARS, the Slovenian company that manages the highways.

Users can already register for the new toll system, and DKV, a partner of DARS, offers assistance and support.
The company also announced the introduction of the DKV BOX EUROPE device for toll collection across Europe. The goal is to collect all tolls for roads, bridges, and tunnels using a single device.
