Luetić announced double-digit growth at Dubrovnik Airport

The new general director of Dubrovnik Airport, Frano Luetić, stated on Monday that double-digit growth is expected at the airport during 2018.

“For this year, we again have excellent announcements and already signed contracts, so we expect double-digit growth in 2018,” Luetić said at a press conference.

As a new feature for the 2018 season, he highlighted the FlyDubai flight on the Dubai – Dubrovnik route, which will operate three times a week from the end of March, and four times a week during the summer season. He pointed out passport control as a potential issue for the upcoming season.

“The requirement is to scan every personal document upon departure and arrival, so queues can be expected. We are already working on resolving this issue in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior,” Luetić said.

The former general director of Dubrovnik Airport, Roko Tolić, stated that the value of the airport increased by 157 percent during his term, revenue by 210 percent, and the number of passengers by over 200 percent.

He assessed the government’s decision to appoint Luetić, who was his deputy, as entirely legitimate, and when asked by reporters whether the changes at the helm of the airport were influenced by the publicly mentioned procurement issues, he responded that he stands behind the legitimacy of all business decisions made during his term.

On January 24, the government proposed to the Assembly of Dubrovnik Airport the appointment of Frano Luetić as director, in accordance with the Regulation on the criteria for the implementation of selection and appointment procedures for the presidents and members of the management boards of companies and other legal entities of strategic and special interest for the Republic of Croatia, for a maximum period of six months.

The Assembly accepted the government’s proposal on February 2.
