The President of the Civic-Liberal Alliance (GLAS), Anka Mrak Taritaš, expressed her belief that HDZ does not want an investigative committee for Agrokor and that it is not a coincidence that before this committee started working, a judicial investigation into the Agrokor case began.
The parliamentary investigative committee for Agrokor was formed after long negotiations, but just a few days later, it can be heard from HDZ that it should not even start working due to investigative actions, said Mrak Taritaš at today’s press conference held in Poreč, emphasizing that GLAS’s position is that the investigative committee should exist and that it should have already started working.

“Nothing is a coincidence; I have too many years to think that something is a coincidence. Ten days ago (October 11), the committee was voted in the Parliament, and at the first session, it did not decide to start working immediately, but from October 30. It was appointed on Wednesday, and already on Saturday (October 14), the President of the Parliament, Gordan Jandroković, hastily stated that he thinks the investigative committee will not even start working,” said Mrak Taritaš, adding that “this means they knew something that the rest of us did not know,” since arrests related to Agrokor began on Monday morning (October 16).
Jandroković stated for Nova TV on Saturday, October 14, that he believes if the investigation starts, the parliamentary investigative committee should not work because there will be overlaps. “I think there should be a halt in work, or a suspension of the committee’s work,” said the President of the Croatian Parliament after Saturday’s meeting in the Government.
Mrak Taritaš assessed today that the investigative committee would have been formed much earlier if HDZ acted responsibly as it claims. “If HDZ has the strength, let it come before the Parliament that voted for the committee and clearly state that it does not want the committee. They have enough votes to abolish it,” she stated.

She assessed that Croatian citizens have lost trust in politics, the judiciary, and the economy, that even parliamentary representatives do not trust the Government, and that the Government’s greatest success is that, as she said, “it has survived so far, after being formed through political trading that has far-reaching consequences in the political life of Croatia.”
This Government was formed on the option of political stability, and there is not even an “s” from stability, she said, asking: “What does instability even look like?”
She reminded that Prime Minister Plenković, in his first speech, placed the person at the center of his actions and added that “one person, Ivica Todorić, is at the center of the actions of all of Croatia.”

Speaking about the judiciary as one of the pillars of society, she emphasized that after a series of court decisions, there is now one “where a syncopation has brought absolute unrest and disorder, after which there is a big question mark about how it will be judged further.”

The party’s vice president, Goran Beus Richembergh, commenting on the announcement of Ivan Vrdoljak’s return to the head of HNS, said that this is closing the circle. “He is the architect of this ruling coalition, and it is okay for a man who thinks that the Government is a Titanic Government to be on that ship that will sink together. Because if he wanted to be one of the captains, it is only right that he does not leave that ship,” he said.
“This is confirmation that HNS is in great staffing problems as soon as the best it can offer at this moment is Mr. Vrdoljak,” said the vice president of GLAS, a party that emerged from the separation from HNS after that party’s decision to collaborate with HDZ and enter the Government.
A two-day party “teambuilding” event is being held in Poreč, where discussions are taking place about the positioning of the party, programmatic guidelines, and organizational strengthening.
