Officially Launched Aurora.hr – Platform for Croatian Entrepreneurs

On Wednesday, October 18, 2017, in Zagreb, U.S. Ambassador Julieta Valls Noyes and partner organization Impact Hub Zagreb officially launched the web platform Aurora.hr, where current and future female entrepreneurs can quickly and easily find all the information necessary for successful entrepreneurship.

The Aurora.hr database is the result of two years of discussions that Ambassador Noyes held with successful women in the Croatian economy and entrepreneurship about the challenges faced by women in entrepreneurship in Croatia today, whether they are just considering stepping into their own business, currently launching ‘something of their own’, or have been successfully operating for years. This project is part of the efforts that the U.S. Embassy is making to improve the entrepreneurial climate in Croatia and increase trade between Croatia and the U.S.

In her speech during the presentation of the Aurora.hr platform, Ambassador Noyes emphasized that there are already numerous opportunities for well-networked female entrepreneurs in Croatia, and that the online database Aurora.hr was launched to facilitate access to this information for all women in Croatia.

About a hundred guests gathered at this event marking the launch of the Aurora.hr platform, and Ambassador Noyes especially thanked Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts Martina Dalić, Minister of Labor and Pension System Marko Pavić, and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Elisabeth Millard, who traveled from Washington to support the Aurora.hr project.

Aurora.hr has already attracted a community of interested female entrepreneurs, mentors, and experts on its Facebook page, as well as in person, through a series of free educational workshops organized by partners of the U.S. Embassy on this project, the organization Impact Hub Zagreb. Impact Hub Zagreb, in April of this year, with partners ACT Group and SEE Regional Advisors, won funding from the U.S. Embassy for the development of the Aurora.hr platform.
