Petition for the 11th Combis Conference

The eleventh edition of the Combis Conference, held from September 27 to 29 in Šibenik under the overarching theme ‘Challenge the future’, gathered a record more than 500 participants, which is an increase of 23 percent compared to the previous year, as shown by the results of this year’s Combis Conference.

This year’s plenary lectures were rated as more useful and interesting compared to last year. The plenary lecture by Jonas Kjellberg, one of the creators of Skype, titled ‘How You can challenge the future?’ was rated as the most useful and interesting of all plenary lectures so far.

“The overall rating of the conference this year is 4.75 on a scale of 1 to 5, which indicates the quality of the conference, as well as the growing interest in ICT solutions and services aimed at business development. We are extremely satisfied with the audience’s reactions to our additional content, as well as the non-IT content that received excellent ratings and comments from participants. Our experimentation and innovation through new aspects of organization have proven successful, as has the new three-day format, so we will continue in the same direction in preparing the next edition,” said Renee Saboti Slovenc, director of the Combis Conference.

In an effort to enhance the experience and perception of participants, the conference entered a new decade enriched with a series of mini-conference events. Each of these events built its own story – CoCo Get Together, CoCo Dating, CoCo BeerUp, CoCo ValueAdd, CoCo Networking, CoCo PowerUp, and CoCo Vision content.

One of the novelties of the 11th edition of the conference is the free registration and transportation for regular students of FER and FOI, as well as for regular students enrolled in computer science programs at PMF, TVZ, and Algebra.

The conference featured more than 50 speakers who prepared nearly 40 lectures. Case studies are a key part of every Combis conference, and this year they were divided into five thematic areas: Combis Solutions, Connected Future, It’s All About Technology, Security, and Redefined Workplace.

“Through the conference program, we aimed to highlight Combis’s technological and business competencies in key areas such as security, Big Data, IoT, cloud business, IT infrastructure, and through examples of successful projects present our vision for the further development of the entire IT sector to participants. According to the survey results, we succeeded in all of the above, which is why we are very pleased to start organizing a new edition of the conference,” said Mario Špundak, director of content for the Combis Conference.

The next edition of the conference will be held from May 23 to 25, 2018, in Poreč.

Along with Hrvatski Telekom, the conference partner, the Combis Conference was supported by platinum sponsor Cisco, gold sponsors Citrix, Commvault, Dell EMC, and Intel, Fortinet, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Palo Alto Networks, Veeam Software, and Wacom Europe GmbH, silver sponsors Lexmark and VMware, sponsor Lenovo, and media sponsors ICTbusiness.info, Jutarnji list, Lider, Mreža, Netokracija, Novi list, Studentski.hr, ŠibenikIN, tportal.hr, and Večernji list.
